Description:

Topped With Spicy Chili, Cheddar Sauce & Green Onions & A Spoonful Of Sour Cream - $6.89

Review:

Uncle D’s isn’t quite the delight that the Spike’s 5 Napkin is.  As much as I love Good Stuff, this chili-cheeseburger wasn’t very remarkable.  It didn’t taste bad, but it was fairly bland.  if memory serves (I ate the burger a week ago now), the chili lacked an especially robust flavor, and the sour cream, cheese sauce and green onions just didn’t do it for me either.

However, don’t let this diminish your desire to check out Good Stuff.  You can always have the amazing Spike’s 5 Napkin, and if bacon, egg, and cheese on your burger isn’t your thing, you should try the Good Stuff Melt.  But that burger is two reviews from now, so you’ll either have to wait or just go try it for yourself.

Story:

My second trip to Good Stuff Eatery was for lunch with a group of co-workers.  Here I discovered that I can be quite out of the loop when it comes to movies.  People (okay, one person) named movie after movie that I hadn’t seen.  I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, considering that I’ve been to the theater something like five times since I moved to DC.  Ah well, other pursuits (such as reviewing hamburgers) occupy my days.  Until next time, go find something good to eat!

  • About

Good Stuff Eatery is a gourmet hamburger restaurant located at 3rd & Pennsylvania SE on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. It was started by Spike, a former contestant on Food Network's Top Chef. It opened to rave reviews in July 2008 and is regularly packed.

I started Good Stuff (Eatery) Love because, well, I love Good Stuff. Their burgers are the best in the District, and the shakes are to die for. My first trip to Good Stuff was on a Wednesday and by the following Wednesday I had been a total of 6 times. With a great funky vibe, awesome music, and both indoor and outdoor seating, Good stuff is a must-eat when in DC.

My goal is to try and review every burger they serve, perhaps excluding the Vegetarians are People too 'Shroom Burger. I'll also be writing up the shakes, sides, etc., and I will probably have some guest reviewers tell you about the stuff I will probably never try (like the salads).
